Kaylie Rose

Kaylie Rose is an alternative Pop / Rock artist. She is the perfect balance of dark sensibility and the light of hope. Her voice cuts right through your entire being. Her sound is creative and technical. The raw sound of her instrumental stands in stark contrast to the crystal clear timbre of her voice. She will draw you in with her eyes and hold you with her smile. Kaylie Rose is a breath of fresh air. You will find your self becoming increasingly relaxed the longer you listen to her unique sound. You will find you receive something you never knew you were missing when you hear her perform.

What is your favorite color?

My favorite color is blue.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is soup, either chicken noodle (basic I know) or spicy.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, a weiner dog and a (feral and mean) cat.

What is your favorite genre of music?

I like everything but country, but my favorite genre is probably alternative.

When and how did your interest in music begin?

I’ve always loved music because my mother raised me on it. I started pursuing it in 5th grade when I joined a band as their keys player. I continued with that group for 6 years.

Who is your favorite music artist? Why?

Pierce the veil is my favorite music artist because I started listening to them at a pivotal time in my life.

If you could perform on stage with anyone, who would it be? Why?

I would perform with Amos Lee because he is the first artist I remember listening to and liking. I’ve kept up with him for almost 12 years now, and he was my first concert. It would be an honor to share a stage with him.

How would you describe yourself as an artist?

I’m a very diverse artist, and I often struggle choosing one style of music to perform. I love alternative, acoustic, EDM, reggae, and even instrumental. I could happily play and produce any of these genres, but I can’t pick just one. For that reason, I’m a very diversified artist.

Who do you most admire? Why

I look up to my grandfather most. Not only was he a great musician when he was in college, he’s an incredible physician and an even better person. His kindness and wisdom never ceases to amaze me, and it was his ability in music that drove me to pursue my own. One day I hope to be as knowledgable, successful, happy, and moral as my grandfather.

What are some of your interests/hobbies other than music?

I love to read, play Zelda games, and learn about math or science. Three very different interests, I know, but I do all three on a regular basis. I spend most of my time reading or gaming, and in the extra time I study (of my own free will, before you ask) math and science. I’m mostly interested in theoretical physics, biomedical engineering, computer science, and pure mathematics.

What is something interesting about you?

I own every book I’ve ever read, and I love the smell of laundry detergent and Pine-Sol.

What qualities do you have that you believe are unique?

Being narcissistic is hard. I’d say I have a unique interest in learning and discovering new things.

Have you ever received any prominent award or recognition for anything you've done? (music, art, academics, athletics, etc.)

I’ve received many academic prestige awards over my school years. I’ve been a part of various competitions both academic and musical. I’ve been accepted into the Texas All State band three times on alto saxophone. That’s pretty much the extent of my coolness.

Is there anything you would like everyone to know about you?

“It matters not how strait the gate, how charged with punishments the scroll. I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.” – William Ernest Henley
