Overview

Texas doesn’t just produce great singers — it produces great voices.

For four years, the Voice of Roanoke competition has highlighted some of the strongest vocal talent in North Texas. In 2026, as the festival evolves into Taste and Tunes on Oak St., the competition reaches a new level through continued partnership with STAND Performing Arts and the addition of KÉTŎS Entertainment.

Finalists will perform during the festival on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, backed by the KÉTŎS house band. With expanded production, professional judging, and elevated performance opportunities, this year’s competition offers more than a moment — it offers momentum.

Information

  • The Taste and Tunes: Voice of Roanoke Voice Competition is open to all Texas residents residing in the following North Texas counties, who are 9 years old and older by the event date. Judges reserve the right to verify age if needed.
    • Archer, Baylor, Clay, Collin, Cooke, Cottle, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Fannin, Foard, Grayson, Hardeman, Hood, Hunt, Jack, Johnson, Kaufman, Montague, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, Wichita, Wilbarger, Wise, Young.

 

  • Taste and Tunes: Voice of Roanoke voice competition is divided into 5 age categories:

    • 9-12
    • 13-17
    • 18-25
    • 26-35
    • 36+
  • Participants must submit an approximately 90-second video audition via UNLISTED YouTube link, which should include: age, a brief introduction, name of song choice, and a song that includes Intro, Verse, Pre-chorus, and Chorus with accompaniment (instrument or track).
    • Submissions must be unedited, single-take performances without the use of pitch correction.
  • Applications, entry fee (non-refundable), and links to your audition video submission must be submitted through the City of Roanoke’s Eventeny platform by 11:59 PM on Sunday, March 29th, 2026. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

 

  • Song Selection Requirements:

    • All song selections must be family-friendly and appropriate for a general audience. Songs containing explicit language, sexual content, excessive violence, or other material deemed inappropriate at the sole discretion of the organizers may result in disqualification or a required change of song.
    • The song performed in the audition video will be the same song performed in the Semifinals on April 19, 2026.

Prize Packages

  • All finalists will receive:

    • $50 gift certificate from STAND Performing Arts towards the camp, class, or production of their choice.
    • $200 gift certificate from KÉTŎS Entertainment usable for any company service (videography, photography, recording studio, artist development, music lessons, etc)

 

  •   The winner of each age category will receive:

    • A $200 Sweetwater gift card.
    • A Roanoke SWAG bag.
    • $150 gift certificate from STAND Performing Arts towards the camp, class, or production of their choice for the winners.
    • $500 gift certificate from KÉTŎS Entertainment usable for any company service (videography, photography, recording studio, artist development, music lessons, etc.)

 

  • The Grand Champion, selected by the judging panel based on overall performance, artistry, and stage presence across all age categories, will receive:

    • A $300 Sweetwater gift card.
    • A Roanoke SWAG bag.
    • $150 gift certificate from STAND Performing Arts towards the camp, class, or production of their choice for the winners.
    • Two season tickets for all remaining shows in STAND’s 2026 performance season.
    • An invitation to perform the following year at the Taste and Tunes: Voice of Roanoke voice competition.
    • An invitation to perform at one of Roanoke’s premier events.
    • One song recording contract with KÉTŎS Records to record, produce, and distribute one song (can be a cover or an original) ($1500 value)
